The Great Christmas Lights Show
One of the area’s most popular events, the Great Christmas Lights Show features more than two million lights and over 500 holiday displays in a 2-mile drive-through course located at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex. Over 500 magical light displays, some up to 55 feet tall, have been custom-made for the event, which feature enchanting, animated figures and holiday scenes. Kick off the holiday season at the annual North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade on December 2 at 5:30 p.m. Holiday-decorated floats, golf carts, cars, and bands make their way down Main Street during this popular event.Ripley’s Aquarium Festival of Trees
The Festival of Trees exhibit at Ripley’s Aquarium honors both the beauty of the holiday season and the heritage and diversity of the United States through the Christmas trees on display. The themed trees are adorned with decorations and ornaments representing each of the 55 great states and territories. The South Carolina tree stands over 18 feet tall and features seashells, magnolia, golf balls, and Coastal, Clemson, USC representation. Guests will enjoy Louisiana’s Mardi Gras tree with masks and beads, a Las Vegas-style tree with a feather headdress, and more. Guests can also test their knowledge about each state’s tree by participating in Ripley’s holiday scavenger hunt. Brookgreen Gardens comes to life amid the soft glow of more than 2,700 hand-lit candles and millions of sparkling lights. A coastal tradition, the Intracoastal Christmas Regatta in North Myrtle Beach lights up the sky the first Saturday after Thanksgiving.
